Use AI to speed up the draft, not flatten your voice

Five guardrails that keep AI-assisted content sounding like you, not everyone else.

AI can help you move from a rough idea to a workable first draft. The problem starts when the tool makes every sentence sound polished, vague and nothing like you.

Before you open an AI tool, write down the point you want to make, the person you are speaking to and one example from your own experience. These details give the draft something real to work with.

Ask for structure, options or a simpler version instead of asking for a finished post. Then rewrite the opening and ending in words you would actually say. Remove claims you cannot prove and phrases you would never use with a client.

Read the final version aloud. If it sounds natural, says something useful and includes a detail only you could provide, the tool has supported your voice instead of replacing it.
